The recent Comet C/2024 G3 on news.

On 5 April 2024, Comet Atlas (C/2024 G3) was discovered at 2 Capricorn. It will reach naked-eye magnitude on 22 December at 16 Sagittarius.

The comet is visible in the southern hemisphere before and after perihelion. In the northern hemisphere it can only be seen in the daytime sky around perihelion.

On 8 Jan 2025 3:10 GMT it will pass ecliptic at 5 Capricorn.

Comet Atlas is also classified as a sungrazing comet on 13 January 2025, at a distance of 0.09 AU (13 million km) from the Sun, making it super bright ( -3.5 magnitude, brighter than Mercury) even has been seen in the day time, on this day it moved between 21-27 Capricorn, yes it conjuncts the Sun and it will align with Pluto on 14 January at 1 Aquarius. We don’t know when this will not be visible with the naked eye, so far we estimate around 3 Feb at 26 Aquarius, but this wait to be confirmed and comets always surprise us.
